  1.                       Encephalitis (Sleeping Sickness)
  2. SYMPTOMS. The sleeping sickness is accompanied by high fever, drowsiness
  3. that may extend into stupor, stiff neck and severe headache. There may also
  4. be confusion, coma, convulsions and paralysis of the extremities.
  5. CAUSES. Viruses cause acute inflammation of the brain. It is sometimes
  6. caused by complications measles, whooping cough, chicken pox or flu.
  7. TREATMENT. There are no specific drugs available for treatment at this time.
  8. .Bed rest, intravenous feeding and cold compresses are some of the measures
  9.  that may be directed by your doctor. There is usually complete recovery.
